Crinone Product Indications
Progesterone gel is used as a supplement or replacement in those deficient in progesterone. It is approved for women with infertility and corpus luteum insufficiency as part of an assisted reproductive technology (ART).
Crinone Dosage and Administration
- For supplement: Insert 90 mg (8%) of gel vaginally once daily.
- For partial for complete ovarian failure: Insert 90mg (8%) of gel vaginally twice daily.
- If pregnancy occurs, continue treatment until up to 10—12 weeks of gestation.
Crinone Warnings, Side Effects and Potential Drug Interactions
- Common side effects: breast pain and enlargement, abdominal pain/cramps, decreased sexual drive, headache, depression, nervousness, nausea, bloating, dizziness/drowsiness, and vaginal discharge and itching.
- Do not use with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, history of blood clots, known or suspected malignancy of the breast or genital organs.
